AbP - general building authority test certificates
Based on the administrative regulation “Technical Building Regulations” for Lower Saxony, the departments ‘Fire Safety’ and ‘Structures & Construction Materials’ issue general building authority test certificates (abP) for types of construction and construction products that are applied all over Germany. Please contact us in time prior to application for an abP, so that a test programme for furnishing the necessary proofs can be arranged. MPA Braunschweig’s percentage within Germany of valid general building authority test certificates on the fire resistance of structural members amounts to about 80%, with upward tendency.

Applications for abp
When preparing an abP, we must comply with extensive guidelines and regulations, which are listed in the Model Administrative Regulation on Technical Building Regulations (MVV TB), in the VV TB of Lower Saxony, in the resolutions of the “Working Group of Fire Protection Laboratories of German Materials Testing Institutes” (ABM), and in the guidelines of the German Institute for Building Technology (DIBt).
To enable us to prepare a technically and formally comprehensive abP for you based on these guidelines and regulations, we ask that you submit your abP application to us. This will allow us to determine which of the new rules apply to your abP and must be implemented accordingly.
You can also find the application for issuance or extension of the validity period on this page on the right under “Downloads.” Please do not fill out the application form in your browser; instead, use a program suitable for viewing PDF files to take full advantage of its functionality. Then send the completed abP application to the email address provided at the bottom of the application form.
Alternatively, you can also submit your application online via the Lower Saxony service portal. To do so, you will need a digital business account (MUK) to authenticate yourself in a legally compliant manner.
You can access the online application via the following link: https://www.navo.niedersachsen.de/navo2/go/a/8423?c=bc
As soon as we receive and review your application, we will contact you to discuss the next steps.
